Cornwall Airport Newquay's Air Traffic Control (ATC) team hosted the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for their annual Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP) Audit in late January, and were flying high when they received their results.

The CAA conducts regular, risk-based audits of ANSPs to ensure continued compliance with safety, technical, and operational requirements.

The audit was slightly later than usual this year as it should have taken place in November 2025, but this did not phase the team and they demonstrated how they operate on a day-to-day basis to provide a safe orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic.

With year-on-year improvements, the team are proud to announce that this year’s audit was their best result to date since the airport opened in 2008, with only a handful of minor findings which are easily rectified. The CAA were impressed with the way the team operate their safety management system and will be back in November 2026 for another audit.

Well done to the team for continuing to demonstrate safe, compliant and reliable services. A result to be proud of!
