Cormac have been helping to keep Cornwall looking its best ahead of some D-Day remembrance events.
Cormac's environment team were delighted to support an event in Falmouth.
The event was a partnership between Falmouth Town Council, Cornwall Housing, and local volunteers. Cormac supported with some mowing and tidying of the appropriately named Beacon area to give it a spruce up ahead of the event.
On the day, a beacon was lit as part of a nationwide beacon lighting connecting communities across the country. The event also included The International Tribute by the Town Mayor of Falmouth and performances from a piper and local artist to commemorate those lost during the events of World War 2.
This was a fantastic example of collaboration between community organisations and volunteers, which genuinely made the area shine for this important event.
Operatives from Cormac's Moorswater depot in Liskeard also tidied an area around Liskeard war memorial in preparation for the anniversary.
Luke Mousley even crafted lovely artificial poppies for the occasion, which were placed by the memorial to remember the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of Liskeard.
