Last week, members of the Cormac People Team visited HMP Exeter to meet with the Prison’s Employment Lead. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange insights and explore how our organisation can work collaboratively to support social value initiatives and help reduce reoffending.
The day began with an introduction from the Governor, followed by discussions with HMP Exeter’s Employment Lead and members of the Employment Advisory Board on supporting prison leavers and engaging with prisons more broadly. The day concluded with a tour of the prison’s employment facilities, including the construction workshop, painting, and catering services.
The commitment and passion demonstrated by staff was genuinely inspiring to see, and the team left feeling optimistic that, as a business, we can contribute to creating meaningful opportunities and clear pathways to successful employment for prison leavers.
