Towards the end of November, the West Country Women Awards 2025 brought together trailblazers from across the region to celebrate outstanding contributions in business, community, and care. This prestigious event shines a spotlight on women who have made significant impacts in their communities and professions through passion and dedication, showcasing their achievements and inspiring others.

Corserv was honoured to have the opportunity to sponsor the Women in Health, Social Care & Wellbeing Award - a category that recognises individuals who go above and beyond to improve lives and champion inclusion.

This year’s winner, Chloë-Anne Hammond, is nothing short of extraordinary. As a clinically practicing nurse who works in a wheelchair alongside her fully trained assistance dog, Chloë is believed to be the only person in the UK doing so. Her work is a powerful example of resilience, innovation, and advocacy in action.

Her journey has been defined by breaking barriers and challenging assumptions. From mentoring within the assistance dog community to guest speaking at universities, she has influenced curriculum changes and inspired hundreds of future healthcare professionals to embrace accessibility and inclusion. Her advocacy has contributed to systemic progress, including reforms by the Nursing and Midwifery Council to better support disabled practitioners. Beyond her clinical role, Chloë uses her platform to share honest reflections on disability, identity, and wellbeing to create spaces where everyone feels seen and valued.

On her win, Chloë said: “Working alongside my assistance dog, Ocho, I’ve learned that difference can be a strength. I hope this recognition inspires others to see accessibility not as an add-on, but as the foundation of excellent care. Winning this award reminds me that resilience and advocacy matter, but so does community. Together we can design systems where every voice in the room is heard and every person feels respected and valued.”

Corserv's sponsorship of this award reflects our commitment to supporting inclusive practices and celebrating individuals who lead with courage and compassion. Chloë is a very worthy winner and her achievements align with our own values of community, care, and innovation. Please join us in congratulating her on this truly well-deserved recognition! Her work is a powerful reminder that when we design systems and experiences with everyone in mind, we can help create a future where care is truly person-centred.
