Coast to capital: Skybus celebrate first flights between Cornwall and London Gatwick

Skybus, the airline of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, celebrated the re-opening of the essential air service connecting Cornwall Airport Newquay with London Gatwick on 23 November – a significant milestone in strengthening year-round connectivity for the region.

The first service marks the beginning of a dependable daily air link that will play a key role in supporting Cornwall’s economy, tourism, and transport resilience.

Earlier this month, Skybus was awarded the interim Public Service Obligation (PSO) contract by Cornwall Council to operate this vital route.

A refreshed timetable of daily flights is now in operation, with the schedule set to increase to twice-daily weekday services in February 2026.
