Having a job can mean so much more than earning a wage.
Employment can bring confidence, independence, purpose, routine, new skills and friendships. It can open doors to new opportunities and help people achieve things they may never have thought possible.
At Corserv, we have seen that impact first-hand through Proper Job, our supported employment service within Corserv Care. Through personalised support, practical work experience and employment opportunities, the service has helped people with learning disabilities and autism develop their skills and take positive steps towards greater independence.
Now, we are building on that success by expanding our supported employment approach across the wider organisation.
For many people, finding employment, volunteering opportunities, and work experience can be challenging. However, with the right support and opportunity, individuals can demonstrate their abilities, develop valuable workplace skills and make meaningful contributions within a team.
The success of Proper Job has shown just how powerful those opportunities can be. Through supported employment, individuals have gained confidence, secured paid work and developed the skills needed to thrive both in and outside of the workplace.
By extending this approach across Corserv, we hope to create more opportunities for people to experience the benefits of employment and build rewarding careers.
At the heart of this initiative is a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
People with learning disabilities and autism have a wealth of skills, talents and perspectives to offer. By creating inclusive employment opportunities, we can help people demonstrate those abilities while developing their confidence, independence and sense of belonging.
Employment can be life-changing. It can provide structure, purpose and financial independence, while also helping people build relationships, learn new skills and become more active within their communities.
Through this expanded approach, we want to help more people access those opportunities and experience the positive impact that meaningful work can bring.
As opportunities are developed across the organisation, managers and teams will be supported through training, guidance and ongoing advice to help create inclusive working environments where people can succeed.
The focus is not on a one-size-fits-all approach, but on identifying suitable opportunities, understanding individual strengths and considering any support or reasonable adjustments that may help people flourish in their roles.
This commitment reflects Corserv's wider approach to equality, diversity and inclusion, helping to ensure that people from all backgrounds can access meaningful employment opportunities and contribute their skills and talents.
Creating more inclusive employment opportunities benefits more than just the individual.
It helps build stronger teams, broadens recruitment pathways and creates positive social value within the communities we serve. Most importantly, it helps ensure that talented individuals are given the opportunity to demonstrate what they can achieve.
What started through Proper Job is now opening the door to something bigger.
By expanding supported employment opportunities across Corserv, we hope to help more people discover their strengths, build confidence and experience the independence, pride and sense of purpose that meaningful employment can bring.
Opening doors. Creating opportunities.
