The ten-year Management Agreement between Cornwall Housing and Cornwall Council has been officially signed.
The Council made a decision in February to enter into a new Management Agreement with Cornwall Housing. After looking at a number of options, Cornwall Council and Cornwall Housing agreed that extending the current agreement - with some important changes - is the best option for tenants and their homes.
This extended agreement focuses on improving the repairs service and customer focus. It also outlines where the Council and Cornwall Housing will be investing in tenants’ homes and estates - to make sure that homes are safe, well maintained and in good condition.
This was subject to a full tenant and leaseholder consultation exercise, the negotiation of a new Agreement and Commissioning Plan, and final sign off by the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH).
In July, the Cornwall Housing and Corserv Boards approved the agreement, following lengthy negotiation between Cornwall Housing and the Council. This paved the way for the Council to make application to the Regulator for final approval. In August the RSH has approved the new Agreement for a 10-year period, with a required break clause at year five.
This means we can now move forward with our plans to bring Cornwall Housing into a new era, where we can continue to deliver fantastic work and make a difference to people’s lives in Cornwall.John Harris, Chair of the Cornwall Housing Tenants Forum; Cath Robinson, Managing Director Corserv Group; Kate Kennally, Cornwall Council Chief Executive; Mike Hanrahan, Chair of Cornwall Housing Board; Councillor Olly Monk, Portfolio holder for Planning and Housing; Su Spence, Cornwall Housing Managing Director and Phil Mason, Strategic Director - Sustainable Growth & Development for Cornwall Council.
