Tenant workshop for new Repairs Guidance Policy

Cornwall Housing tenants were invited to take part in a workshop this month to discuss the new Repairs Guidance Policy.

As part of the new partnership between Cornwall Housing and Corserv Facilities, who deliver repairs and maintenance for Cornwall Housing’s tenants, a new guide has been created to make it clear what the expectations are around repairs and maintenance.

The guide includes information about how long tenants should expect to wait for a repair, and who is responsible for what in tenants’ homes. The workshop was attended by representatives from the Tenant Forum, Scrutiny Panel and Complaints Appeals Panel.

The workshop included an update from Corserv Facilities on their current repairs and maintenance performance, and the chance to ask any questions.

The tenant representatives also reviewed the draft Repairs Guide and gave feedback on some of the wording and layout.

Alongside the workshop, we held an online focus group, where working tenants, single tenants and households with school age children attended in order for us to hear a wide range of tenants voices.

The next steps will be to incorporate the feedback, and share with Cornwall Housing Board for final approval. We then expect to launch the new guide before the end of the year.

If you need to report a repair you can visit https://www.cornwallhousing.org.uk/residents-area/repairs-and-maintenance/ or call 0300 1234 161.

Tenant have also been working with Cornwall Housing and Corserv Facilities on how they would like to share their views about the repairs and maintenance service. We held an event in May with to discuss this alongside phone calls to a variety of tenant to ensure a wide range of voices were heard. Please see the below for more information on how you can get involved.
