A job well done: Clapper Bridge repairs receive glowing feedback

Colleagues from Cormac's Highways and Structures Team have received praise from local councillors following the successful repair of Clapper Bridge near Pillaton.

After the need for repairs was raised with Portfolio Holder, Councillor Dan Rogerson, work was swiftly arranged and completed to a high standard, earning positive feedback from the local community.

Cllr. Jim Gale thanked everyone involved, saying:

“The local parishes and myself would like to personally thank you and your structures and highways team for carrying out the repairs to an excellent standard. I find people are quick to complain, but rarely quick to recognise and thank those who ensure issues are dealt with on their behalf. So once again, thank you, the work you do is much appreciated.”

Responding to the feedback, Cllr. Dan Rogerson highlighted the dedication of Cormac's teams in delivering value for Cornwall. He said:

“I am delighted to hear that you and local residents are pleased with the result. The whole team do a great job of responding to need as best they are able.”

For the highways and structures team, projects like this are about much more than repairs. They combine specialist engineering expertise with a sense of pride in preserving Cornwall's historic infrastructure.

“Sadly, the highways and structures team are frequent visitors to many of the ancient bridges around Cornwall due to road traffic collisions. However, their skills quickly get the bridges repaired and back open again.”
