The Beach Management Team recently joined a fantastic range of local organisations at Gyllyngvase Beach Day in Falmouth, helping families learn more about enjoying our beaches safely and responsibly.

Sue Nicholls, Senior Beach Officer said:

"It was a great opportunity to talk directly with beach users about the work we do, share practical beach safety advice and answer questions – all in a relaxed and fun environment. We also had the chance to try out our new Beach Safety Quiz and colouring sheets, which proved a real hit with both children and adults! The resources have been developed as another way of engaging families with important safety messages, while making learning about the beach a little more fun".

The day brought together organisations including Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Plastic Free Falmouth, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, the Children’s Sailing Trust, Sand Safe and others, with activities ranging from rockpool exploration and beach games to storytelling and marine conservation. A big thank you to everyone involved in organising the day and to all those who stopped to chat with us. Events like this are a lovely way to work alongside other organisations, meet the people who use our beaches and share some simple messages that can help everyone enjoy the coast safely.
