Caught on camera: meet one of the River Fal's special residents

During a recent pre-construction ecological survey for bridge repairs, an active otter holt was identified by Cormac’s in-house ecologist.

After spotting fresh otter prints, a trail camera was deployed, capturing wonderful video footage of one of the site’s special residents.

Working closely with the project team, appropriate measures have been put in place to ensure the bridge repair works can be carried out sensitively, minimising disturbance to protected species while allowing essential infrastructure improvements to proceed.

This is a great example of how early ecological surveys and in-house expertise help us understand the wildlife using a site before any work begins and ensure that nature conservation remains at the heart of project delivery.
