Going above and beyond during Storm Austen.

Last week, while working on the Cliff Road Mid Cornwall Metro project in Newquay, members of our Cormac team stepped in to help residents and visitors stay safe as powerful winds from Storm Austen created dangerous conditions around the Aldi area.

Recognising the risks posed by the severe gusts, the team assisted members of the public, offered advice on safer routes, and helped people struggling to cross the car park and nearby footways. We recently received a message from a visitor to Newquay thanking the team for their kindness and quick thinking, describing them as "a credit to Cormac".

A huge well done to the team for looking out for the community when it mattered most. Their efforts were also spotted by local residents and shared on social media, attracting comments including:

  • "Top attitude, spreading some morale on a winter's day."
  • "Credit to Cormac and society."
  • "Such kindness, well done."
  • "Good for them, well done guys."

Thank you all for demonstrating what community spirit is all about.
