Cormac's Highways teams have been highly commended for their exceptional work during Their Majesties' recent successful visit to Cornwall. The team rose to the challenge of several last‑minute changes with adaptability and strong collaboration.

Kate Kennally, Chief Executive of Cornwall Council, and Clerk to the Lord Lieutenancy, sent her thanks to everyone involved: “Thank you so much for working with Charlie Sims to make the visit of Their Majesties this week go so smoothly. The organisation that goes into an event such as this is considerable, and this particular visit had a significant number of last‑minute changes which had to be accommodated, and your support was absolutely invaluable.” She added, “So good that again Cornwall is seen as ‘can do’.”

Special recognition was given to Neil Grigg, Thomas Coombs, Lindsay Cowl and the site team, supported by Steve Bayley and Rachael Tatlow, for their exemplary efforts in developing road closure and crowd‑barrier plans within days of the initial recce. Their commitment led to plans that the Police were "very pleased with," ensuring faultless operations and good attendance.

Emails from members of the Royal Household echoed this appreciation, praising the team for their professionalism, agility and unflappable delivery. They described the visit as “wonderful”, commended the seamless venue changes, and emphasised how much Their Majesties enjoyed meeting hundreds of people from across Cornwall.

This is something the whole team can be proud of, and a testament to delivering for Cornwall’s communities. Thank you to everyone involved.
