Confidence, careers and conversations

Learners at Truro & Penwith College were given a valuable confidence boost last week as they prepared to take their next steps into the career landscape, supported by Corserv's Communications and Engagement Manager, Rebecca (Bex).

To celebrate the students enrolled onto the ‘Digital Marketing Skills Bootcamp’, a recognition event held recently brought students nearing the end of their training together with three specially selected local professionals within the marketing sector. Designed as part of their final programme activity, the event offered a relaxed, supportive space for learners to explore career opportunities with local employers, network, and practice presenting their marketing and communication skills first-hand.

In an upbeat and impactful session, Bex helped to host a series of informal, conversational-style interviews with students. These interviews offered students the chance to share their experiences, ask questions, and receive helpful and insightful feedback.

All in all, the day was a positive and encouraging experience, helping learners to build confidence, make connections, and gain a clearer understanding of locally available opportunities.

Attending events like this is key in supporting early careers and strengthening links between education and industry, helping the next generation to feel prepared, informed, and inspired as they move forward into the world of work.
