Service users and colleagues are settling into their new home at Chi Marghas, marking an exciting new chapter for Corserv Care's Day Opportunities service in Liskeard.

Previously based at Morley Tamblyn Lodge, the service has relocated to the purpose-built Chi Marghas Liskeard Hub, where modern, accessible facilities are already helping individuals enjoy new experiences, build confidence, and continue to thrive.

Designed with accessibility at its heart, the new ground-floor space includes a large communal activity area, dedicated spaces for tabletop activities and relaxation, a sensory room, fully equipped kitchen, accessible toilets, changing facilities, plus an accessible vehicle to support outings and activities.

While the new environment offers fantastic opportunities, the move itself was always going to be a significant change for many. For some, Morley Tamblyn Lodge had been a familiar and reassuring place for decades, with one individual attending since age 18 and now in his 50s.

Recognising this major change of environment, the team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible.

In the weeks leading up to the move, colleagues worked closely with individuals, families, and carers through regular conversations, written communications, and organised visits, helping everyone become familiar with their new surroundings before moving day.

Where individuals faced additional personal challenges, the team went even further, coordinating with transport teams, respite services, and social workers to ensure every person received the tailored support they needed.

Thanks to this thoughtful planning and compassionate approach, the vast majority of individuals have adapted positively to their new surroundings. For those who needed extra reassurance, colleagues have continued to provide personalised support, resulting in growing confidence, increased engagement, and plenty of smiles.

The move has been a true team effort, demonstrating the professionalism, flexibility, and unwavering commitment the team bring to supporting people every day.

The fantastic new facilities at Chi Marghas are already providing exciting opportunities for a wide range of activities; take a look at the pictures below!

A huge well done to everyone involved in making the move such a success. The team's adaptability, kindness, and dedication have ensured that what could have been a daunting change has instead become the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the people they support.
