Colleagues from across Corserv recently attended a Cornwall-wide employer workshop hosted by Cornwall Council and Seetec, focused on helping people stay well, stay in work and successfully return to work following illness as part of the Keep Britain Working campaign.

The event brought together employers, partners and stakeholders to explore practical approaches to workplace health, employee wellbeing and inclusive employment. They also heard about local support available to employers through programmes such as Connect to Work, WorkWell and Youth Guarantee.

Recruiting and retaining talented people continues to be a challenge for organisations across the UK. Discussions focused on the impact that health issues and sickness absence can have on both businesses and individuals, highlighting the importance of creating supportive workplaces that enable people to thrive.

A key contribution from Corserv came from Cat Pritchard, HR Director, who presented our approach to inclusive employment and wellbeing. During the session, Cat shared how Corserv is embedding wellbeing, inclusion and belonging across the Group through our Wellbeing Strategy, which focuses on creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported and able to thrive. The strategy brings together activity focused on social value, social sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and psychological and physical wellbeing.

Cat also took part in a panel discussion alongside local employers and national partners, answering questions and sharing Corserv's experiences of developing inclusive employment practices, promoting wellbeing, supporting employee engagement and creating a culture where people can do their best work. Corserv's approach aligns with its wider commitment to being an employer of choice, promoting wellbeing, diversity and meaningful engagement, while providing inclusive support that helps employees thrive.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to learn from other organisations, share best practice and contribute to conversations that are helping shape future approaches to workplace health and employment support both locally and nationally.

By taking part in events such as this, Corserv continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating inclusive, supportive workplaces that help colleagues remain healthy, engaged and successful throughout their careers.
