Some of Cornwall Council’s Members and Corserv’s Board and Colleagues came together for a constructive and positive lunch at New County Hall on Monday 11 May, providing an opportunity to reflect on shared priorities and future focus.

The session reinforced our commitment to supporting Cornwall Council and delivering services that make a tangible difference to residents, communities and places. Members’ local insight and understanding of day-to-day experiences were highlighted as vital in ensuring services remain focused on outcomes and standards.

A key takeaway from the discussion was the strong sense of pride in Corserv’s work, alongside recognition of the dedication shown by teams working in challenging public service environments. Ensuring this positive feedback is shared widely remains a priority.

The discussion also highlighted the close alignment between the Council’s priorities and Corserv’s strategic goals, including safer transport, cleaner environments, stronger communities and resilient local economies. Members and Board colleagues agreed on the importance of consistent delivery, clear communication and demonstrating value in a way that builds trust.

Members also provided candid feedback, which we have welcomed. Three key themes emerged, and work is already underway to respond at pace. Thank you to those who attended and we look forward to similar opportunities in the future.
